Fordhall Farm Shop
Fordhall Farm Shop is on the outskirts of the traditional market town of Market Drayton in North Shropshire, in the picturesque Tern Valley. The local organic food shop was opened in 2004 when volunteers helped renovate an old shippon into the speciality farm shop.
The Farm Shop and farm is run by brother and sister, Charlotte and Ben Hollins. They began this business back in 2004 when they were only 21 and 19 years respectively. They sell all local or organic produce and Ben prides himself in the beef, lamb and pork that he hand rears on the farm. As well as Fordhall Beef, Lamb and Gloucester Old Spot Pork we have our own dry cured bacon, pork sausages, free range organic eggs, fresh locally grown vegetables, Shropshire honey, jams, organic ice cream and organic speciality cheeses.
Fresh meat is available every week and there is always frozen meat in the freezer. For those who require a specific cut or quantity we operate a box/order scheme. We can deliver nationwide though the online shop, or you can order something to collect from the farm shop.
We aim to only sell meat from stock reared on the farm but sometimes this is not possible so we occasionally source produce from local farms, rest assured this is always labelled as local meat, so can be differentiated from our own. One of these farms is only 3 miles away and the farmer adopts a similar system to Fordhall rearing many rare breeds (D J Charlesworth).
All meat is slaughtered locally and brought back to the farm for butchering, before it is delivered to your door, at a farmers' market near you, or in the farm shop, offering full traceability.
Everything we do has local connections at its heart and we pride ourselves in the careful way we rear our animals, providing natural stress free environments. Our lush pastures and fantastic array of wildlife have benefited from their late father's decision to stop putting artificial chemicals on the land over 65 years ago.
