How Can You Get Involved? Buy Shares in the Fordhall Community Land Initiative Shares are £50 each and they mean that you part own Fordhall Farm. These are life long shares in the Fordhall Community Land Initiative and entitle you to one vote at the Annual General Meeting. Each share comes with a beautifully presented share certificate and for the first year you will receive free subscription to 'Friends of Fordhall' quarterly newsletter. These shares are completely non-profit making and can not be sold on or transferred (unless stated so in a Will) - you are investing in the future. Please note: shares can be sold back to the FCLI and the funds returned to you. If shares are sold back then the return value will be subject to an administration fee. However, the FCLI may decide to withdraw this option without notice and at any given point. These rules are here to safeguard the FCLI as a community benefit (not member benefit) society. Buy a share as a gift for a child Buy a share for a birthday/anniversay/wedding/christening Present. To buy a share you could either apply on line via the link in the top left corner of the page, or you could download the application and return the hardcopy to us. Download the Society Rules HERE This is an annual subscription and entitles the subscriber to quarterly newsletters and concessions at events. They are great little booklets that keep you updated with progress on the farm and allow you to feel involved from a distance. You will also receive information on volunteer opportunities and invitations to social events. Individual: £15, Family: £30.
Any donation, large or small, will help our cause. We have charitable status and so please do not forget to sign the gift aid declaration if you pay tax - this way we can claim an extra 22% on all monies we receive from you!
Become a Volunteer Our project is run by young people who are learning all the time. The Initiative already has a great mix of skills on its board and within its current database of volunteers but more skills and time are always needed. We need help with administration, marketing, gathering sponsorship, looking for grants, creating the new builds on the farm, renovation projects and any other ways you think you may be of use. We are now looking for help with the new buildings, architects drawings, surveyors - all these skills are needed. Spread the Word One of the most powerful tools of our campaign is by word of mouth. You can help by forwarding the link to our website to all your friends, or by downloading the leaflet on the left and giving it to collegues or friends. Even if you only tell two people - it can make all the difference... Buy a Community Share? Why not hold your own fundraising event? you could have a car boot, sell cakes, car wash, charity dinner, fancy dress, fun run - whatever takes your fancy. And for every £50 you raise you can buy a share for your community group in the Fordhall Community Land Initiative. Your community group can own a part of the English Countryside forever!
Write a Letter of Support These are immensley valuable when applying for grants. A short email or letter of support from you can make a big difference. Just tell us where you are from and why you support this innovative project.
