Fordhall not only offers a landscape filled with wildlife and adventure, but as England’s first community owned farm, we also have regular events and activities that can entertain the whole family (please see our website for up to date event details).
Our yurts are perfect for a romantic hideaway or a family adventure. Complete with compost toilet, camping shower, beds, wood burner, gas BBQ, bed linen and even a kitchen sink. At the right time of year there is also an edible garden including marigolds, mint, gooseberries and damson trees, meaning you won’t have to go far for that quick snack!
Our two yurts are interconnected, providing the perfect getaway for up to six people. One is used as the bedroom and the other the living space. We only rent this as one unit, so you have complete privacy, peace and quiet.
The wood burner can be used to heat the yurts, boil a kettle or cook an egg; all you need to do is get it going. Our yurts epitomise the glamping offer (glamorous camping). Whilst still providing you with the feeling of camping out with nature, we want you to feel spoilt and inspired. There is a solar powered cool box for example, but nowhere to plug in your hair straighteners or toothbrush! (Also no Wi-Fi)
Our yurts are insulated with sheep’s wool, have cotton sheets on the beds, decking to sit out and admire the views along the Tern Valley, and a book shelf stocked with everything you could ever want.
A holiday in our yurts is about enjoying and feeling part of nature, with that little bit of extra comfort. Plus you have the farm shop and Arthur’s Farm Kitchen not too far away for those essentials, such as a cooked breakfast, Sunday roast or pack of free range Gloucester Old Spot sausages!
Why not bring your telescope with you and watch the stars, or hire one of our bat detectors to listen to the calls as the bats fly overhead at night. Our yurts are here for you to enjoy.

What is there for children?
We have farm trails to explore, woodlands to hide in, dens to make, tree’s to climb, tyre swings, ropes, chainsaw carvings and lots of wildlife to spot. The farm and nature itself are the best children’s playground you can have. We also provide lots of books filled with ideas for outdoor games.
Plus all visiting children are given the opportunity to help out Farmer Ben by keeping a watchful eye on the livestock, looking out for problems, counting them and reporting back to our young farmer.
