Our ethos, sourcing policy and sustainability focus
Our ethos is based around providing high quality, honest food at events, providing a catering outlet that people can trust. We consider each part of our business to ensure that we are doing the best that we can.
The quality of our food is something we are incredibly proud of. We use burgers and sausages made by our very own butchery team here at the farm, we only use dry cured British bacon (our own if possible, when demand exceeds supply we source from local farms). We only use British chicken which is at minimum Red Tractor approved. All dairy products are made using UK milk, and we use local veg and bread suppliers where possible.
We work with a number of businesses in order to achieve the right product mix, sourcing items such as bread, veg and packaging from local and independent traders. However, we also benefit from using the scale of large food service providers to ensure we can meet the demand of large events, working with them to source products that fit our ethos. It is important to us that we support British and local wherever we can, using only British dairy items and always aiming for higher welfare items.
We have always used compostable packing, including meal trays, cups, lids and cutlery, and use Fordhall branded where possible. Our cups and greaseproof tray liners for example have QR code which can be scanned by our customers to bring them back to our website!
The cooking oil that we use on all of our units is always GM free, and our waste oil is collected and converted into biodiesel.
