Volunteering Pledge
We are delighted that you would like to join our Fordhall Family and help us create meaningful change for our community, the farm and the planet. Please read about all the current volunteering options below and tick those that you feel that you can commit to in the next 12 months. We will contact you as soon as opportunities arise.
I would like to be a:*
- Farm Friday Volunteer. These run every Friday 10am to 4pm and include a variety of outdoor, practical work with a friendly group of like minded people. . You can book to attend on a weekly basis.
- Volunteer Weekend member- Outdoor and Practical Work. Our weekends are running 2-4 June, 15-17 September, 17-19 November . Typical days are 10am to 4pm with hearty Fordhall food provided for you. Accommodation is available in the Straw Lodge if you wish to make the most of your time on the farm. These Volunteer Weekends are essential for the upkeep of Fordhall Farm, as well as the conservation, wildlife and accessibility aspect here.
- Volunteer Weekend member - Indoor support work. Our weekends are running 2-4 June, 15-17 September, 17-19 November . Typical days are 10am to 4pm with hearty Fordhall food provided for you. Accommodation is available in the Straw Lodge if you wish to make the most of your time on the farm. You will be helping to feed and water the outdoor volunteers, keeping them topped up with brews and lovely meals.
- Office Mailing Supporter- Once a quarter we send mailings to our Grazer subscribers/Shareholders. You would be available midweek in office hours to help stuff and count envelopes - tea, cakes and friendly chat is provided! Ideally a minimum of 2 hours commitment once a quarter is required.
- Event Supporter - We run events for our community on an ad-hoc basis. You may be helping with parking, event set-up, event delivery, clear up etc. Typically events are in school holidays and during office hours, but there may be occasional weekend opportunities with weddings or functions.
