Fordhall Organic Farm, England’s first community owned farm, has been successful in the DENSO JOE fund grant, administered by Shropshire Community Foundation, to deliver a youth programme “Upskilling in Nature”.

This 10-session programme will support young people aged 16–25, particularly those who are home educated, care leavers, or living in areas of high deprivation within the Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin area. Through practical, outdoor learning, the programme aims to build confidence, develop hands-on skills, and inspire pathways into education, employment, or training.
Sessions will be running on selected Tuesdays and Fridays between May and November, each session will take place from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Participants will engage in a range of environmental and land-based activities across the farm. Spaces are limited to 10 places, and are due to begin this May. Participants will be asked to book onto the full course of dates, and be available to attend a minimum of 8 to 10 sessions.

Session 1 – 22nd May
Session 2 – 26th June
Session 3 and 4 – 24th and 31st July
Session 5 and 6 – 18th and 25th August
Session 7 and 8 – 22nd and 29th September
