Today we begin the second week of Arthurs Plough and it looks like the weather may be a little kinder to us. Last week, two performances were held in Ben’s barn and two were held in the Farmhouse garden. All were very successful and everyone had fun. 
This will be the last EVER week of performances at Fordhall Farm, with the following weeks performances moving to Home Farm, Attingham, Shrewsbury.

Fordhall Farm’s biggest event of the year takes place this Sunday (6th July). Our Summer Fair will run from 11am-4pm and will have enough activities to keep you entertained all day. We have sheep shearing demonstrations – the naming of Ben’s new Bull – hog Roast – live music – bee keeping demonstrations – games – farmer’s market – afternoon teas – RAF Helicopter – fishing – composting and more…

If anyone told me that tha best night out I have had in ages would be spent ina barn in north shropshire, quite frankly I would have laughed at them.
But last week I spent a fantastic two and a half hours watching Arthurs Plough.
At times Chris Eldon-Lee’s script and the actors delivery were hilarious. This is a production very obviously polished to perfection.
Pure Genius.
I am sure Arthur would have been proud.

Just to say what an absolutely fantastic performance on Saturday night – something
for everyone involved to be very proud of and something everyone locally should see.
Do you have any plans (or have you already) got anyone to video it? It would be very
good to be able to show to students, or at conferences on green care/sustainable
farming etc.

Yes the play has been recorded and will be available on dvd over the next few weeks. They will be £10 each and will be available direct from the farm.
We have all loved doing the play and so glad that you enjoyed it too. Hopefully next week in Shrewsbury will be just as good. Its a shame it will all be over after next week!

Hi Charlotte, Ben, Hannah and all the volunteers, Thank you for a great
weekend at the farm! The play was great fun – we didn’t know what to
expect but we really enjoyed it and laughed a lot. Thank you for

Sue and I have just got back from a lovely weeked, enjoying your hospitality at the farm, looking around at the stock and land, and going to the play at Home Farm in the evening. We were very impressed with the play – quite poignant but great fun, and very well acted and produced.

As for the play – It was brilliant – a collection of so many different emotions –
very funny at times, very sad at times and so thought provoking. So much to reflect
and contemplate on for the future. I didn’t really know what to expect from the play
but the performance was far better than I imagined it possibly could be. Despite
being amateurs what a professional performance it was – first class actors and
choir. The back drop of Fordhall must have been marvellous for the play especially
when in the garden but Home Farm was also a great location for the play although
from where I was sitting I kept thinking a hen or two would put in an appearance any
second, stage right, from the barn next door !!
